All skin types require moisture, even if your skin is currently on the oily side. If you have dry skin, it’s important to use a rich moisturiser to nourish and smooth. If you have oily to combination skin, try a light moisturising gel to gently hydrate.
Use hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid, naturally found in the skin, attracts and holds large amounts of water. Using topical hyaluronic acid helps to retain moisture in the skin, as well as improving the texture of your skin to enhance radiance and smoothness. This aids the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to promote a youthful look.
As well as keeping your skin hydrated on the outside, it’s essential that you stay hydrated on the inside. Drinking at least 2 litres of water per day will ensure your body and skin is in the best health. Food with a high water content will also keep you well-hydrated, stock up on melon, cucumber, oranges, tomatoes and strawberries.
Avoid harsh skincare
Avoid using harsh skincare products in your beauty routine as these can strip your skin of its natural oils, causing dryness, flaking and irritation. Use gentle products, especially those with natural ingredients which are beneficial for your complexion.
Protect your skin from the sun
Too much sun exposure is extremely damaging for your skin, causing it to become dry and dehydrated accelerating the ageing process. Ensure you apply SPF before going out in the sun to protect your skin.
